River’s Edge is a quiet, family-friendly campground in Eastern NC, located on the Bay River between Bayboro NC and Vandemere, NC. River’s Edge Campground is a sportsman’s paradise with plenty of outdoor options for the entire family to enjoy. However, before you take part in these outdoor activities, it’s a good idea to check up on NC license info. For example, do you need a fishing license? A boating license? We’re here to help you with all of this important information.
In North Carolina, a fishing license is required for anyone over the age of 16 who is using bait and/or fishing gear to catch finfish in any public waters in the state. You can apply for the license online, and there are a number of fishing licenses to choose from. You’ll want to choose the license that applies to the area where you’ll be fishing, and you can also select if you want a short-term license (many of these last 10 days), an annual license, or a lifelong one. If you like to hunt, you can also get a hunting/fishing combination license.
If you plan to fish during your visit to River’s Edge, you’ll want to go ahead and get a fishing license. We’re happy to answer any questions you might have about the process.
Another type of license to consider is a boating license. In the state of North Carolina, you need a boating license if you were born after January 1, 1988 and plan to operate a boat over 10 hp on NC waters. In order to obtain your boater’s education license, you can take an in-person class or an online course. You will then receive a paper license showing your completion of the course, and you need to keep this on your person whenever operating a boat.
